Standards

I'm using the big "S" word, Standards.
Many times we set our standards too high, or even too low,
or sometimes we forget we have them at all.

I know this blog is about my online dating endeavors, however, after today's interview I feel the need to blog about standards in general. I was overly prepared for this interview, took pages worth of notes and ideas, read through my interview question book, and looked great! I was very disappointed at the interview to find that the woman was very uneducated, and unable to understand the scope of a basic marketing plan. HELLO, I went to school for four years to learn how to do this, and how you are planning on doing it will not work. How do you plan on running a medical practice?!

So, not to toot my own horn, but I am overqualified. I was so excited going into this interview, this is something I could do and in this case be very good at.

Okay to the dating, I currently have about 200 messages sitting in my inbox, give or take a few. Many of which I have decided to not reply to indefinitely, for instance the ones that say "Hi" what do you even say back to that. I have also ruled out the crazies, note my last post (the philosopical ones) -unless it would be a good laugh.

I'm a little discouraged with the turnout, out of 200 messages I am not eager or excited to talk to anyone. Maybe my standards are set a bit too high? But is this an instance where you lower your standards? Sure on a Friday night at the bar where there are no other potentials I will drop my standards like it's hott. I feel that online you are allowed to be picky and choosy, I don't know these people, I am not hurting their feelings, and they aren't buying me drinks! Online dating is a no commitment relationship- some of these guys write please let me know, even if you aren't interested. Why waste my time, and yours? Forget you even sent the message to me and move on! It's not like we are breaking up, actually you don't even know my name!


I think I should let you all in on who/what I am looking for. Well a man between the ages of 21-30 that is very tall (6'0" +++) and rather athletic or skinny. He is caucasian (I'll use the PC term- it just sounds better) with a full head of hair, good skin, and normal sized features. He is a college graduate who is persuing a professional career and is motivated to continue future endeavours. He is family oriented, likes to have fun, and enjoys sports. Okay, so pretty much I am looking for the All-American Boy! This is where my standards are set, and they sure as hell aren't dropping for a dude on POF!!

So come on already, at least give me something to toy with a little bit, Mr. All-American, or my cutie that I am still waiting for!!! Come out, come out where ever you are.....
